Where to Hunt in Iowa

Where to Hunt in IowaThe Iowa Department of Natural Resources provides Iowa hunters a "Hunting Atlas" to help them see where in Iowa you can hunt and where refuge and other areas are. This map is a great resource for hunters and is available on the Iowa DNR website HERE.

The map provides information on the following areas:

  1. DNR Refuges (based on season)
  2. Iowa Habitat Access Program Tracts
  3. DNR Managed Public Hunting Areas
  4. Other Public Hunting Areas
  5. Closed Area for Canada Goose

This gives you an idea where you can hunt and where you can't hunt in the state of Iowa. You can also look at the map in layers so that you can view the categories above one at a time so it is easy to read. The map zooms in and out as well so it is easier to see a specific area of the map.
